ABOUT ME

Hello, and welcome to my portfolio!
My name is Kathryn Hamilton and I have always had a passion to learn, help people, and be creative. Architecture and art have given me that opportunity, and I am excited to be growing my career in a field where I can do just that!
My main focus with my designs is to allow people to experience their world in a much more phenomenological, yet functional way. Most of my work has aimed at incorporate elements of psychological, biophilic and sustainable concepts to impact architecture & understand how those things can have an impact on our well-being and the planet.
To get where I am today, I attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where I received my Bachelor's in Interior Architecture through undergraduate studies, where I continued on to complete their graduate Master of Architecture program. Throughout my educational career I held several design internships in both Interior Design and Architecture and have also had the opportunity as a Graduate Assistant to help guide incoming students: sharing some of my knowledge of different computer software and how to apply them with the technical.
In my professional career, I have worked at (2) architectural firms in Denver, CO and (1) fully remote firm. The first, designing Community & Recreation Centers, interacting with local governments and community boards to bring access to or upgrading existing facilities for the local residents. The second, focusing on Urban Design and Resorts/Hospitality where I was able to get a stronger understanding of the private developer world. My third position is at an Interior remodel focused firm, where I had been brought on to help initiate a handful of 'ground-up' projects & further their ability to provide exterior remodel elements/details. These positions have helped me to gain valuable experience in a multitude of construction types, design approaches, and how those impact coordination efforts, while still expressing my creativity and learning the technical side of design.

Other interests of mine include hiking and paddle boarding with our (2) doggo fur babies (Georgia and Kiwi), snuggling with my kitty reading, struggling to keep my plants alive, and working on home renovation projects with my husband.
I hope you enjoy my work, and I would love to get to know you. Please feel free to send me a message or email me below!
