Hello, and welcome to my portfolio!
My name is Kathryn Hamilton (Parker) and I have always had a passion to learn, help people, and be creative. Architecture and art have given me that opportunity, and I am excited to be growing my career in a field where I can do just that!
My main focus with my designs is to allow people to experience their world in a much more phenomenological, yet functional way while also thinking about the psychological, biophilic and sustainable impact architecture can have on our well-being and the planet.
To get where I am today, I attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where I received my Bachelor in Interior Architecture through undergraduate studies, and was accepted and completed the graduate Master of Architecture program there as well. Throughout my educational career I held several previous design internships in both Interior Design and Architecture and have also had the opportunity as a Graduate Assistant to teach incoming students some of my knowledge of several different computer softwares and how to apply them with the technical.
In my professional career, I have worked at (2) architectural firms here in Denver, CO. The first, designing Community & Recreation Centers, interacting with local governments and community boards to bring access to or upgrading existing facilities for the local residents. The second, focusing on Urban Design and Resorts/Hospitality where I have been able to get a stronger understanding of the private developer world. These positions have helped me to gain valuable experience in a multitude of construction types, design approaches, and how those impact coordination efforts, while still expressing my creativity and learning the technical side of design.
Other interests of mine include hiking and paddle boarding with our (2) doggo fur babies (Georgia and Kiwi), snuggling with my kitty reading, struggling to keep my plants alive, and working on home projects with my husband.
I hope you enjoy my work, and I would love to get to know you. Please feel free to send me a message or email me below!
