Castle Rock Sports Center

Looking to provide a space for major youth basketball and volleyball tournaments, youth swim competitions, and additional community sports amenities, the Town of Castle Rock paired with developer Confluence and BRS to design and build the new Castle Rock Sports Center.

 

At about 100,000 sqft this facility hosts 8 elementary school basketball courts, 4 high school courts, 2 middle school courts, 5 volleyball courts, 12 pickleball courts, 11 competitive swim lanes, a 3-lane warm up pool, and several fitness and multi-use spaces for the community.

 

The major concept of this project was based on the idea of creating a "base camp" and "catalyst" for activities within the community, as well as a concept of "see it, be it, in it" referring to the idea that you can be the athlete, the spectator, or just a passerby, but you can choose your level of interaction.

I had been the only designer on this project continuously from the Schematic Design phase and took on the role of coordinating the design intent of the building exterior & interior between our Interior Design consultant, Structural, Mechanical, & Plumbing Engineers. This project has broken ground, but is still under construction as of July 2026.
